Dr. Ahmed F. Elnokrashy

Assistant Professor

Dr. Ahmed F. Elnokrashy earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in System and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cairo, Egypt, in 1998, 2007, and 2014, respectively.

From 1998 to 2013, Dr. Elnokrashy dedicated himself to R&D, specializing in the design and implementation of medical systems, with a primary focus on ultrasound, hemodialysis, and ICU monitoring. Initially concentrating on hardware design, which included analog and digital systems like PCB and FPGA, Dr. Elnokrashy seamlessly transitioned into software development within the medical domain. His expertise extended to medical signal processing for ultrasound Doppler, pulsed wave, and color Doppler, alongside medical imaging reconstruction and real-time 3D visualization environments. Dr. Elnokrashy played a pivotal role in constructing software systems for various medical devices, notably ultrasound and hemodialysis machines.

From 2013 to 2017, Dr. Elnokrashy served as an R&D manager at IBETECH, a Bahgat Group company renowned for its expertise in manufacturing advanced medical systems. In this capacity, he significantly contributed to the design and manufacture of cutting-edge medical equipment, positioning the company as a leader in the industry.

In 2013, Dr. Elnokrashy earned an MSc in signal processing for ultrasound Doppler, followed by a Ph.D. in medical data visualization in 2015, focusing on real-time 3D rendering of ultrasound data. Subsequently, in 2015, he embarked on his academic journey as an assistant professor at Benha Faculty of Engineering, Electrical Department. In addition to teaching, his research interests encompassed medical imaging, computer vision, and data analysis, leading to active participation in multiple research grants, including four from ETIDA projects related to medical imaging systems. In 2015, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Section, University of Benha. Dr. Elnokrashy's current focus lies at the intersection of AI and computer vision. Notably, he successfully completed a grant with Dileny Company, funded by ETIDA, resulting in the company's acquisition by a US-based corporation.

Since 2023, Dr. Elnokrashy has been a part of the Computer Science School at Nile University, where he serves as an assistant professor, continuing to make significant contributions to research and education within his areas of expertise.
