I'm Mohamed El-Kalioby, a Biomedical Engineer since 2008, I'm also a Microsoft Certified Professional since I was 18 years old (2003), I became a Microsoft Certified Application Developer in 2006. In 2008, I joined the Bioinformatics Research Group in Nile University and I got a fully paid scholarship to pursue a MSc in Software Engineering, I transferred all my knowledge to open source tools, I substituted Windows by Linux (Ubuntu), C# by Java and Python, MS SQL with MySQL. I learned so quickly that by 2010, I took over the role of the system administrator for the Center of Informatics Sciences in Nile University. My Thesis was targeting Software Engineering in Bioinformatics, at that time, we worked with Harvard Medical School to consume the power of cloud computing on AWS to fasten the results of Bioinformatics analysis, we built an automated on-demand computing cluster creator that supports EC2 on-demand and sport instances, EBS, and S3, this library is called ElasticHPC which is used Tavaxy Workflow system. Between 2011 and 2014, I was a Co-founder and Infrastructure Engineer for Trendak Egypt which specialized in Social Media Analysis, the main challenge was the big data in addition to the continuous crawling of data and how to tune to finish the analysis before the arrival of next batch. I supported the development team alot as a senior software engineer, working in Trendak, gave me a lot of commercial experience which helped me while I'm leading the Software Engineering team in the Bioinformatics group of the Saudi Human Genome Program.
